Angela (she/her) is a BAFTA nominated documentary filmmaker whose work explores marginalised stories with themes of resilience and survival.

With over two decades of filmmaking experience, she began her documentary career producing and directing a multitude of international, specialist factual co-production content for broadcasters and distributors such as National Geographic, France Televisions, Passion Distribution & Parthenon Media. Her work has also aired on BBC1, 2 & 3, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

Angela has led production teams across five continents and filmed in a myriad of locations including conflict zones, deserts, rainforests, protected islands and ancient antiquities sites.

In 2019 she founded Wheesht Films and her first independent documentary film Bachelor, 38 was BAFTA nominated for Best British Short Film. After a short theatrical run, the film platformed on Curzon Home Cinema, was screened at over 20 international film festivals, and acquired by the BBC.

In 2024, Angela secured film funding from Uncertain Kingdom and BFI Doc Society and is in production with her second short documentary film, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.

Angela is an alumnus of Sheffield Docfest Future Producers School, serves on juries for the RTS and BIFA and heads up the Iris Prize Documentary Film Fund. Alongside her filmmaking, Angela delivers talks and training courses on documentary film and has previously lectured post-graduate and undergraduate university students.
